Your asbestos is wrapped, transported and legally disposed of at a licensed facility, with a clearance certificate where required. One less thing to stress about.

The Gate Fee Is Only the Last Part of the Job

The tip fee itself can be modest compared with a complete asbestos job. Before waste reaches the facility, it must be removed safely, kept separate, wrapped, labelled and transported correctly. Labour, protective equipment, access controls, vehicle arrangements and independent clearance belong in the project budget. Comparing only the facility's charge with an all-inclusive removal quote leaves out most of the work and legal risk.

Disposal is included in all our removal quotes, along with removal, wrapping, transport and independent clearance. You do not need to arrange a second disposal booking for that quoted scope. Ask us to identify the complete removal area at the site visit so the price reflects the actual material and access, not just an estimate of its weight.

Red Hill's Published Schedule and Resident Eligibility

These figures come from the EMRC 2026–27 fees and charges schedule, as at July 2026; fees are reviewed each financial year. The member-council resident rate is not a general discount for every Perth household or commercial load. Check eligibility, proof requirements and the correct waste classification with the facility before relying on that rate.

Council tip passes cannot be used for asbestos. A pass that covers ordinary household waste does not change the facility's asbestos conditions. Charges and acceptance requirements should be confirmed for your particular load, especially if it contains contaminated soil, mixed materials or waste beyond ordinary wrapped bonded sheets. Do not arrive with an unidentified mixed load and assume it will be accepted.

Prepare Bundles to the Facility's Asbestos Rules

EMRC requires asbestos to be separated from other waste, double-wrapped in heavy-duty plastic and sealed with adhesive tape so fibres cannot escape. Label the packages CAUTION ASBESTOS in letters at least 50 mm high. For hand unloading, each bundle must contain no more than three sheets. Packages should remain sealed and manageable throughout loading, transport and unloading.

Tell the weighbridge attendant that the load contains asbestos so you can be directed to the correct unloading area. Red Hill does not allow asbestos to be tipped out. Call Red Hill on (08) 6219 7333 before travelling to confirm acceptance for your load and any specific arrangements. Following the gate process is part of legal disposal, not an optional courtesy.

A Small Bonded Job Still Has Safety Obligations

In WA, removing more than 10 m² of non-friable asbestos requires the appropriate removal licence, while friable material requires Class A controls regardless of size. A smaller bonded scope does not remove the need for safe handling, correct wrapping and an approved facility. Avoid breaking sheets into smaller pieces merely to fit a vehicle or container.

Owners should not assume that paying an unlicensed collector transfers every risk away from them. Illegal dumping can lead to investigation, cleanup costs and liability depending on the circumstances. Confirm the contractor's scope, licensing and disposal arrangements, and retain the paperwork. Cheap collection without a clear destination is not a substitute for a documented, compliant removal service.

Why an Ordinary Skip Bin Is Not the Answer

Asbestos cannot simply go into a mixed renovation skip. Specialist acceptance, packaging and transport conditions apply, and not every bin operator handles asbestos. We do not publish a generic asbestos skip-bin price because the material, load and provider's approved service must be established first. If you already have a bin on site, tell the operator about suspect material before adding anything.

We arrange the full removal and disposal scope so wrapping, collection and the destination are coordinated rather than left for you to resolve afterwards. Keep suspect debris separate and undisturbed while waiting for assessment. The fixed quote is a clearer comparison than a low gate fee or an unverified transport offer that excludes the controls needed to get the waste there safely.

Frequently Asked Questions

Only within the applicable WA removal, transport and facility rules. Small bonded quantities still require safe handling and packaging. Larger non-friable jobs and all friable removal require the appropriate licensed controls. Confirm acceptance with Red Hill before travelling.

No. Council tip passes cannot be used for asbestos. The eligible member-council resident rate is a separate fee category and must be confirmed with the facility; it is not permission to use an ordinary waste pass.

Yes. Every removal quote includes removal, wrapping, transport, disposal and independent clearance, with GST included. The written scope identifies the material and area covered before work begins.

There is no single published price we can responsibly apply to every load. Asbestos needs a suitable approved service, correct packaging and a confirmed destination. We quote the full removal and disposal scope rather than suggesting an ordinary mixed-waste skip.
